  so ... i don't know if any of this is even of interest any more, i know i'm getting kinda bored with it :) so many other more interesting stories out there.

  anyway, limped my way through 17 years being a jw until now.

  First of all, I have enjoyed the 4 Posts you have written!!!

  However, I believe you are being too hard on yourself. It's funny, in some ways my life mirrors yours. My wife attends about 25% of the Meetings, I about 75%. Anytime I share my research with her , she gets upsets and makes an extra effort to go to the meetings.

  So what I am trying to say is, don't mention your findings to him. From what I remember, he used to miss a lot of Meetings until you started sharing things with him. If you leave him alone , he will probably slide back to little activity.

  My best time with my wife is that every evening we have a mix drink(trying out many new ones), Go for a walk or work in the garden together, then switch to a glass of Red Wine, try out a new dinner meal she has found and then watch a TV Program or Movie, go to Bed and do it all over again the next day!

  No arguments, no fussing, everything on the upside. Also, we have a Camper and go out 4 different weeks (5 days each) during the Summer months and don't go to any Meetings while we are on Vacation. No ruff camping either, I even bring my Satellite TV Receiver with me!

  Our Congregation is very Old. 74 pubs and Our Meeting attendance is at 80%. 3/4 of the Congregation is over 50. 2 couples in their 30's with 3 young children, 5 teenagers.

  7 Elders(2 in their 70's, 4 in their 60's, 1 in his 50's), only 2 of the Elders have had Children. We have 6 MS in their 50's and 60's, 2 of them have 1 teenager each, the other 4 have no children.

  The Future doesn't look good for most of them.

  the organization never ceases to amaze.you've got to see this video for yourself so i won't say much about it.

  Those are from the Attendant Dept. and they are instructed to not lay a hand on any protesters. "If attacked, or assaulted, you have the right to defend yourselves."

  I remember that expression was discussed during the CO meeting with the Elders and how to deal with those that cause disruptions at the meetings.

  i have been a baptized witness for about 30 years.

  from the time i was a kid.

  i've been the only one in my family who is baptized until 15 years later when my mother got baptized.

  Had this very situation happen in our Hall.

  A Sister married a DF brother and her Uncle (an Elder) said to her to say to the Elders that " I was engaged to him before thDFing".

  We wrote the Branch about this and their was response was that "in Jehovah's eyes, an Engagement is the same as being Married". They even included the Account of Joseph was going to divorce Mary (they were only engaged at the moment) when she revealed that she was pregnant.

  i got it before 8 in the morning on a work day, as a text message.

  nothing beats a warm invitation for spiritual encouragement than a quick electronic message.. sheesh.....
